The Osteopathic Medical Foundation (“OMF”) hosted its Awards Program and Fund-Raiser on Friday, September 26, 2003. This event was the climax of the Michiana area osteopathic physicians celebration of National Osteopathic Medicine Week 2003.

The program was held at the historic Studebaker National Museum in South Bend. This special event hosted by OMF had multiple purposes. According to Dr. Mark Cantieri, Chairman of the Board of the Osteopathic Medical Foundation, “This event was an opportunity for osteopathic physicians and supporters of osteopathic medicine to mix in a relaxed and informal setting for an evening of fun and fellowship. We provided an overview several positive contributions and benefits of the OMF. ”

The most important part of the program was to name the first OMF D.O. of the Year. Two special individuals were recognized for their important contributions to osteopathic medicine in Michiana during their careers, Dr. P.J. MacGregor, and Dr. Walter C. Anglemeyer. Both physicians were selected by the OMF board in recognition of their contributions to osteopathic medicine in the Michiana community and for their decades of dedicated service.” Also, Firoza (Tasha) Zaman was presented with $5,000 from the first annual OMF Forgivable Loan Program.
